Overview: A global leader in technical computing, system simulation, and embedded code generation tools is seeking an engineer with a strong passion for autonomous systems to join its Consulting Services team in Tokyo. In this role, you will guide customers in utilizing advanced engineering tools for algorithm development, simulation, implementation, and verification within autonomous systems. As a consultant, you will apply your expertise in control systems, perception, mechatronics, image processing, signal processing, and real-time implementation to support cutting-edge development initiatives.

Responsibilities: Take on leadership roles in technically complex and high-impact projects as a trusted expert: Consulting Project Management Manage task planning, budget tracking, and resource estimation Maintain strong communication with customers Estimate project scope and deliverables Project Execution Actively contribute to consulting engagements, particularly in robotics and autonomous systems Consulting Sales Support Collaborate with sales teams to position consulting services Engage with customers to manage expectations and identify needs Product Feedback & Collaboration Work closely with internal product development teams Provide feedback on product requirements and help resolve complex customer issues Travel Travel to customer sites as needed (up to 45%)

必要なスキル・経験

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of professional experience (OR Master’s degree with 3+ years, OR PhD, OR equivalent experience) Authorization to work in Japan

Preferred Qualifications Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field 5–7 years of experience in mechatronics or autonomous systems industries (e.g., Robotics, AD/ADAS, Drones, eVTOL, etc.) Programming experience in one or more of the following: Python C++ / C MATLAB or similar technical computing tools Knowledge and experience in autonomous system technologies, such as: ROS / ROS2 Sensor Fusion LiDAR SLAM Motion Estimation Path & Motion Planning Robotics Algorithms (e.g., kinematics, inverse kinematics, collision detection) Deep Learning / Image Processing (e.g., YOLO) Experience with embedded systems and implementation: GPU / Jetson platforms Customer-facing engineering or consulting experience Strong Japanese communication skills (business level or higher) Intermediate or higher level of English (written and spoken)
