Role Overview: As a L/S Equity Analyst for Japan Equities, you will be at the forefront of investment analysis and strategy formulation for our Japan equity ideas within an APAC L/S equities portfolio strategy. Your deep insights into the Japan markets across all sectors will be crucial in guiding our long and short equity positions, ensuring optimal returns and strategic growth for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Equity Research: • Conduct exhaustive equity research on Japan companies across all sectors, evaluating their financial performance, growth potential, market positioning, and overall investment appeal. • Develop financial models, perform valuation analyses, and assess the risk associated with specific investment opportunities. Investment Strategy Formulation: • Collaborate with the portfolio management team to craft and refine investment strategies based on research findings. • Provide buy, hold, or sell recommendations and generate innovative long and short investment ideas to capitalize on market inefficiencies. Market Analysis: • Monitor economic trends, industry developments, and other pertinent factors that could influence Japan equity markets. • Provide actionable insights on market dynamics and potential investment implications. Collaboration and Reporting: • Collaborate effectively with other analysts, portfolio managers, and the wider investment team to ensure a cohesive approach to fund strategy. • Present research findings and investment recommendations to senior management and stakeholders with clarity and conviction.

In terms of seniority they are looking for an analyst who can generate ideas, have a technical discussion with the PM about sizing, pairing, risk-on vs risk off, crowding, momentum, etc. Allocation of a sleeve from day 1 is possible.
必要なスキル・経験
Qualifications: • 5-8 years of experience in equity research with a focus on Japan markets, either on the buy-side or sell-side. • Strong academic background, preferably with a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields. • Proven ability to generate actionable investment ideas and a demonstrated track record of strong analytical insights. • Comprehensive knowledge of financial modeling and equity valuation methodologies. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
